During your laser vein treatments, we will customize your treatments by adjusting the laser parameters specifically for your skin color and the size and depth of your veins. This flexible interactive approach to treatment allows us to successfully treat veins faster and more effectively than ever before. The ClearlScan and CoolGlide deliver laser pulses of a special wavelength to coagulate the blood within the veins and seal off the abnormal vessels. The number of treatments needed may vary depending on the size of the veins, the amount of vein disease present, and the density of the treated blood vessel network. Patients of all ages with light,dark, or tanned skin can all safely experience outstanding results with laser vein treatments.

Patients may resume most normal activities immediately, but usually avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Sunscreen use is recommended when treated areas are exposed to sun. Most treated veins show significant improvement within a few weeks of treatment. However, final results may not be apparent for a few several months.

Sometimes laser vein treatments are combined with sclerotherapy if large, dilated varicose veins are present along with small spider veins. Dr. DiLauro will discuss your treatment options with you after examining your veins.
